Bobby Barr, Freestyle Scholarship (UK)
Energy, excitement and enthusiasm fill this Scholarship event. Young Freestyle students fill the floor and the positive attitudes, smiling faces and high energy leaps and turns, along with Breaking and Street Dance, make this an event not to be missed.
Scholarship nominees are selected by Examiners from the previous year’s examinations. Gifted students from Blue Riband Level to Annual Award (age over 11 and under 18 on Exam day), are selected to take part in this prestigious event held annually in Glasgow, Scotland.
Students nationwide will come together and showcase their technique, dance quality, solo performance and personalities to a panel of distinguished adjudicators all vying for that Special recognition of the BATD Freestyle Dance Scholarship Award Winners.
The 2026 Bobby Barr Freestyle Scholarships were held at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow, on 7th March 2026.

Class Director - Abbie Brown!
We are thrilled to welcome back the talented Abbie Brown as Class Director for the 2026 Bobby Barr Freestyle Scholarships! 
We can’t wait to welcome her back for another amazing year! 
Abbie is an Urdang graduate and trained full time at The Dance School of Scotland and Brisbane School of Dance prior to training at the Urdang Academy.
Some credits of Abbie’s include performing in Richard Quinn’s feature film for London Fashion week and walking the red carpet for the British Fashion awards with Billy Porter. Abbie has featured in music videos for artists and performed on Britain’s Got Talent, successfully getting through to the live semi-finals.
Abbie was seen on The Greatest Dancer and BGT, winning “Best performance in reality TV” whilst attending the National Reality TV awards.
Abbie has most recently performed in Wembley Arena at the HUM awards and filmed the new movie “Wicked” with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo!
